I’ve been knitting away these last few days, in case you didn’t know. Finished two things, and have begun another! For the first finished object… the gray kitty hat for Tina!

Gray Kitty Hat!

Ain’t it cool? I love it. It’s not as furry as the other two, but that made it a dream to knit, and it’s so danged cute. I think I got the ears in the right place, too! I hope Tina loves it, because I do.

Secondly, I finished the yellow dishcloth! Sorry for the piss poor photo. Evidently didn’t have the ‘close up’ setting on my cruddy camera on.

And then… I have begun a second Branching Out scarf - this time made with Knitpicks’s Shimmer. It’s lace, so it looks all scrumpled up and stuff, but I believe it’ll be gorgeous when it’s done. This is my first time working with actual laceweight yarn. And gugh, what a chore. I was shaky to begin with (why, oh why?), and then working with such a thready yarn on such /large/ needles (Okay, size 8, just like what I use for dishcloths… but huge for the yarn!), and trying to keep the tension right… Gugh. I knit the knit and lacey rows too tightly (or so it seems), and then I purl the purly rows too loosely (or so it seems)… but it all seems to even out I guess when I stretch it out as if it were blocked. I think I’m doing fine. I hope I’m doing fine. Here it is:

Also thinking about joining up with a lace stole knitalong. I’m hesitant. As I said, I’m a lace newbie, and a stole is huge. But… what better way to learn, ne? Even neater (and more intimidating), it’s a mystery knitalong, so I wouldn’t even know what the finished product would look like. But maybe that’d prevent me from being super intimidating from the start… I wouldn’t be able to go: “Ohh… I can’t do /that/…” I don’t have much time to think about it. And I need yarn if I’m gonna do it. Knitpicks, here I (maybe) come!
